There are different expressions and formations between English and Chinese languages.Thus leading to different modes and codes of language on part of speech.Therefore,when English is translated into Chinese,in order to make the translation smoothly and easily to be understood and conform to the target language expressions,translators need to change the part of speech of the original word.This practice report is based on an English book named How to Navigate Global Economy,The report describes the problems in the process of translating the text and corresponding translation methods.The report mainly discusses the problem of conversion.The first problem is the conversion of English nouns,which express dynamic characteristics,status characteristics and abstract meanings.The second problem is the conversion of English adjectives,which express emotions,essential characteristics and the verbalization in the conversion of adjectives.The third problem is English adverbs,which express motion trends or serve as adverbials in the sentence and the nominalization in the conversion of adverbs.Focusing on the above three parts of speech,the author has found out concrete methods.In terms of English nouns,the author converts it into Chinese verbs,adjectives and adverbs.In terms of English adjectives,the author converts it into Chinese verbs,nouns and adjectives.In terms of English adverbs,the author converts it into Chinese verbs,nouns and adjectives.The author chooses typical cases to illustrate how to apply the translation strategies to solve these problems,making the translation accord with Chinese expression,which has a certain significance for improving the quality of translation and the related translation practice.
