A Translation Report On The Chinese Transformation Of Corporate Culture Part B Chapter Six And Conclusion

This thesis is a translation report on the translation practice of the Chinese transformation of corporate culture by Colin S.C.Hawes,of which Chapter six ‘Corporate culture and incentive systems' and Conclusion ‘A hybrid socialist corporate culture(with Chinese characteristics)' as the source text.Chapter six mainly takes Haier and Huawei as an example to describe how they develop their enterprises by implementing corporate culture and reveals the corresponding positive and negative effects brought by their culture.The conclusion explains how the various interpretation and techniques of corporate culture change reveal the unique status of business corporate in Chinese society.It also demonstrates that mutual influence exists among Major Chinese firms and CCP,and the result from which is still unknown.Hawes considers that CCP heavily involves with the change plan of corporate culture to warn us that Chinese polity exists everywhere in Chinese society and corporate,and we cannot escape the influences from it.On the basis of the source text is practical writing,and with the intended purpose of the target text is to provide a unique view of Hawes in the Chinese transformation of corporate culture for scholars and students who do research in those fields,the author has chosen skopos theory put forward by German functionalism representative Hans Vermeer as the guidance.In the process of translation,the author has adopted domestication to deal with cultural differences.What's more as Hawes has examined Chinese corporate culture in political view,the author has chosen alienation to address the issue about different ideology of China and West.The language style of the source text is academic writing,considerable long sentences and abstract words are widely used to make language well knitted and logic careful phrased,the author attempts to adopt addition,back translation,splitting and conversion as translation methods to deal with those problems in order to make the target text conform to Chinese readers' reading habits and faithfully convey the information of the source text.Through this translation practice,the author has improved translation ability and made profound understanding of skopos theory.Meanwhile,the author has also realized that it is not easy to be an excellent translator,as translator needs to not only strongly in bilingual basics and rich in knowledge reservation,but also keep patience and carefulness in the process of translation.Only do well every process with conscientious,such as preparation,translation and revising,can the top quality of target text be guaranteed.
