The UNESCO International Research and Training Center for Rural Education(INRULED)is an international organization co-founded by the Government of China and UNESCO,with the ai'm of achieving sustainable development in rural areas through research and training activities in the field of rural education,and achieving the development goals of EFA.Learning Villages is a brochure written by the INRULED Senior Consultant Qutub Khan,which analyzes all the aspects of social life in rural areas,points out the importance of building learning villages,and makes some recommendations.Therefore,the translation of this brochure is of big significance.The English to Chinese Translation Report on Learning Villages conducts in-depth analysis in translation tools,translation theories and strategies,problem solving methods,etc..This report shows the entire translation process of Learning Vllages,which provides a reference for other translators to complete the similar translation tasks.It also demonstrates that adequate translation preparation and post-translation examination are effective in improving the translation efficiency and quality in translation projects.In the report,the author analyzes the effect of computer-aided translation on improving the efficiency and ensuring the consistency of translation,and points out its importance and future development potential.This paper examines some phrases and sentences in learning Villages as the typical cases,and studies the guiding significance and practical effect of translation theory in the real translation process.It mainly chooses Nida's "functional equivalence" as the translation theory,which may broaden the thinking area for other researchers.The report also expounds the use of multiple translation strategies,such as supplementation,ellipsis,and sentence reconstruction,from both lexical and syntactic levels.Furthermore,the report also explores the requirements for translation of the official documents such as government and international organizations,including the language style,accuracy of the translated words,localization and so on,in order to provide reference for other translators who have the similar translation tasks.At the same time,the report summarizes the problems and challenges encountered in the translation process,as well as the specific corresponding means and the methods of settlement,hoping to provide reference for other translators.
