Eugene A.Nida's theory of functional equivalence has been highly valued and has influenced the practice of translation. It can be applied as a guiding criterion in Sci-Tech translation also. This paper focuses on Sci-Tech texts, and the source text is a guiding book for College student to computers in Education.Along with its original categorization, and the translated version finished by the author, the author aims to figure out with the application of Nida's functional equivalence theory in translation, how meaningful significance it will obtain in the end.And the specification of the target language depends on the potentially complex needs and intention of the receptors. The principle of Nida's functional equivalence is that the target text readers should get the same or maximum level same feeling as the source text readers do when they access to the translation text.Sci-Tech translation is a challenging and complex process.Sci-Tech translators face numerous factors that influence their ability to translate certain terms. In order to translate effectively, either at the science-to-science level or across any of the technology levels, the translator searched from seas of expertise books and consulted the people who have technical expertise on this field.Hope to make the translation more accurate, understandable, and clear, also for the benefits and convenience of no matter professional students in this field or public who want to gain some knowledge on computer Science. And the author believes that the application of functional equivalence theory in this translation will make the target language readers to the biggest extent make reaction the same asAnd the author believes that the application of functional equivalence theory in this translation will make the target language readers to the biggest extent make reaction the same as the source language readers do.In addition, under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, translator also carefully studied translation strategies and techniques such as literal translation, free translation, communicative translation and semantic translation, domestication and foreignization.Having selecting the translation strategies that are most suitable for the source text, the translator hopes that functional equivalence translation theory with these translation strategies can produce a satisfying translation.
