A Translation Project Report On Biochar System For Smallholders In Developing Countries (Chapter 1-3)

Presented is a translated version of Biochar System for Smallholders in Developing Countries which was released in the year of 2014.The practical reportage which is not published yet,was made by the World Bank.It made a comprehensive survey about biochar in developing countries and stated the opportunities and risks of biochar system(including influence to soil,productivity,climate change and society),technology adoption and the potential future involvement of development institutions.It is of great significance to fighting climate change and increasing food production and respondign to many other challenges.Undoubtedly,the report removed people's confusion about biochar and gave us the direction for future development.As a developing country,China can make plans according to the biochar utilization in Vietnam and Senegal combined with its own conditions.Under the guidance of the functional equivalence theory,this report attempts to analyze how to produce on the second readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the original by applying the translation techniques,the change of voices,the change of parts of speech,the change of afirmative and negative expressions,the change of component and explanantion of terminologies.The translation report consists of four parts,first,a brief introduction of goals and significance of the translation project;second,a conversation on authours,content and features of the report;third,which is of great importance in this translation report,difficulties encountered,the translation theory and transiting methods used;forth,experience gained and goals to be set.
