A Practice Report On The E-C Translation Of Technology And Innovation Of Statoil (Excerpts) Based On Domestication

The thesis is a practice report on the E-C translation of Technology and Innovation of Statoil excerpted from Statoil official website.The target language is Chinese and the source language is English,which mainly focuses on carbon capture and storage,wind energy,technology management,oil-field exploitation,refining process and innovative research in petroleum and natural gas.The translation of petrochemical text aims to facilitate exploration and development of offshore petroleum prospecting technology in China,further pushing forward structural adjustment and upgraded transformation in petrochemical enterprises.The report mainly reviews and analyzes the major translation difficulties and methods in the process of translation.Providing corresponding countermeasures and methods for the difficult problems which includes compound sentences and passive sentences is based on the principle of domestication.The translator employs four translation methods,which are division,reconstruction,amplification and conversion.Although petroleum translation studies have enjoyed great development in China;the translation of petrochemical text has not drawn wide attention.Therefore,the paper attempts to conduct analysis of the petrochemical text,in hopes of summarizing the features of petrochemical texts and proposing some strategies for translating such texts.Meanwhile,it is hoped that other translation learners could benefit from the analysis and investigation of translation practice.
