Report On The Translation Of The UK Education Reports Of The Guardian

News is an effective medium for rapid delivery of information nowadays,and often has a vocative function.In order to achieve the best results of information transmission,the translation of English news becomes more and more important.The existence of different cultural backgrounds constitutes many difficulties in the process of translation.Although the translator tries to keep the news context and the type of writing consistent,the details of the articles such as vocabulary,grammar,long sentences and text structure features add difficulty to the job.The translator should use different approaches in the process of translation in order to deal with the translation well.As we all know,education is an important part of the development of a country.In recent years,the problems of education have been endless,and the importance of the study on the current situation of education is obvious.Based on the text typology theory,this paper selects six English education articles close to our daily life from The Guardian for translation.Combining the research methods of semantic translation and communicative translation,and the author analyzes the articles translation from the lexical,syntactic and discourse levels.Using translation skills like amplification,omission,and conversion etc.,the author highlights the characteristics of news translation,and expresses a strong appeal of the news text.This report mainly includes five parts: introduction,task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.In the translation process,the author follows the four principles of news translation: content faithfulness,article readability,stylistic appropriateness,translation speediness.The author delivers the relevant content about the important roles: parents,students,teachers,schools,and special education or other aspects to the readers;and provides them with the relevant issues related to education for references;and after reading the report,the majority of target readers can also find the nature of the problems from the surface information of these educational phenomena.
