With the author’s own experience of translating the work reports of AITA Foundation for Animal Protection(AITA),a Charity Organization, this thesis probes into the C-E translation of work reports by comparing the first draft, revised version and published version under the guide of Newmark’s text typology and translation. The work reports of AITA review and summarize its work of the past year and make plans for the next year to raise the readers’ awareness of animal protection and motivate them to take actions, making those reports both informative and vocative and different from common work reports(only informative). The translator should analyze the text, determine its text type before translating and apply the relevant strategies.Guided by Newmark’s text typology and translation, this thesis proposed strategies for C-E translation of work reports, such as addition, omission, choosing the right words, switching the order of paragraphs, using auxiliary words, adverbs or fixed expressions to strengthen the emotion and tone. This thesis consists of four parts with the third chapter as the main one.Based on the author’s practice of translating the work reports of AITA,this thesis attempts to offer translation strategies of work reports featuring both informative function and vocative function to improve translation quality and efficiency.
