A Report On Translation Of The Guardian Based On The Column Of Business And Economy

With the development of economic globalization,economic exchanges among countries across the world have become increasingly frequent.This thesis will summarize the translation methods and strategies of news texts based on the Guardian—— the column of business and economy.Obviously,this thesis is of great significance for guiding the translation practice.This thesis introduces the overall situation of this translation task,makes a brief review of the current research actuality of news English translation both at home and abroad,and briefly describes the research methods applied in the thesis.With the help of qualitative and quantitative analysis,the author will use these methods to analyze the language features on the basis of given translation texts and point out the characteristics of containing many economic terminologies.Besides,in terms of words and expressions,sentences and discourses,the given translation materials will be deeply researched and discussed pertaining to the translation methods and strategies accompanied by the sentence examples.Among these key points,the translation methods of complex sentences will be the priority to analyze,such techniques namely literal translation,adverse translation and division translation.By doing such efforts,the target texts will be highly matched with the original and be vivid with distinctive features of journalistic English.
