Site 2 of Niuheliang Ruins is four Mounds and 2 altars,it contains 6 building parts,according to these parts' time relationship,after circular mounds turned to square,Mound 1 was belong to the top square mound time.At this time,Site 2 is already a worship center,and Mound 1 's age was a heyday.According to each tomb's relationship,Mound 1 can be separated to earth stage and none-wall stage,secondary burial tombs were the last.The shape of these tombs and the combination of the jades are closely bound up.Mound 1 is an important part of site 2,were unearthed 75 pieces of jade,about 75%of Site 2.Most of these jades were unearthed in tombs,a small amount of unearthed in the formation.There are many kinds of jades unearthed in the tombs of Mound 1,which are representative,and contain almost all kinds of jades of Hongshan culture.In these jades,oblique mouth tube shaped mouth was appear earlier and last a long time,maybe a kind of special device which used to represent the status of the tomb;jade ring is a common burial jade during this period of time,most of them used to be wear on cloth,these jade unearthed from many locations,could be a sign that shows the wearer's social status;jade pipe was slightly founded,although the modelling is simple,it is a kind of important device,could be used to display the special status of the owner's or outstanding contribution;cloud shaped jade actually contains two different types of jade,Brid shape jades have the function of bionic animal worship,which the cloud shape jade doesn't.It has the function of sacrifice is no substitute for other categories of jade,these jade were designed for the totem and sacrifice,at this time,the worship activities are closely related with totem worship.Most of these jades unearthed from Mound 1,it's a sign that Hongshan Culture takes ritual activities as an important part of life,and jades were its necessary medium.
