The original text mainly tells the writer's life experience.The writer was an NBA star and got the second draft by Chicago Bulls in 2002.However,he ruined all the bright future by himself.He rode a motorbike onto a pole.This horrible accident destroyed his career and also almost killed himself.He drowned himself into endless guilt and sorrow.It took him a long time to be able to walk on the ground again.He briefly returned to NBA court,but this couldn't realize his basketball dream.After many things and changes happened to the writer.He began to review his experiences and got much wisdom from those tragedies.Finally he becomes an analyst on the ESPN.Now,he is happy that he can still be connected to the game he loves.The writer is inspired by his own experiences so that he wants to encourage more people in trouble not to give up.Translating this book will enable Chinese readers to have a better understanding of NBA and a new understanding of American culture and the lives of ordinary people in the United States.There are many conversations,psychological descriptions,detailed descriptions and many short sentences that carries many emotions in the original text.These are the key points and also the difficult points in the translation practice.In dealing with these problems,translators need to repeatedly read the original text to grasp the author's thoughts and feelings,sometimes even need to guess the writer's idea.For the professional basketball terms and basketball jargon,the translator needs to verify the translation through the Internet to ensure the accuracy of the translation.For the abstract noun translation,the translator needed to repeatedly read the context in order to guess the writer's intention reasonably.In addition,there are many short sentences that carry many emotions in them.Literal translation is not suitable for this situation.The reporter uses the method of amplification to reproduce the emotions in the original text.In the Chapter Case Analysis,the reporter analyzes the translation of the titles of the book and some typical key and difficult translation examples.The reporter explains the use of amplification in the case analysis.Through the description and case analysis of the translation program,the reporter draws the conclusion as follows: 1.Reading the original text time after time and preparing the translation tools are of great importance to finish the translation program in high quality.2.When translating the autobiography text,it is very vital to grasp the writer's emotions.3.When it comes to the specific American social issues,using the internet to understand the background information is very important.4.The amplification was widely used in the translation practice.Adding some words properly in translation can make it better to reproduce the emotions and situations in the original text.
