The aim of this thesis is to design the teaching process of elementery Chinese listening and speaking class which is based on the book "Hanyu tingshuo jichu"published by the press of Central China Normal University.The thesis is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is introduction.It introduces the origin and the development of the situational language teaching method and the basic information of the book "Hanyu tingshuo jichu".It also discusses the meaning of this research from the theoretical and practical perspective and the status quo and the studying method of the research.The second chapter includes three parts.The first part analyzes the four characteristics of the elementary Chinese listening and speaking class which includes the conbination of listening and speaking with the situation,emphasis on communication,the transition of the passiveness and initiative and the evolutionary characteristic of studying.It also discusses the three factors including the teaching aim,teaching object and the teaching book which influences the teaching design of the elementary Chinese listening and speaking class;Based on the first part,the second part discusses the feasibility and five principles including the effectivity,the concision and the attractiveness of the situational teaching design;Last but not least,teachers should try their best to act their part well and make good use of modern aids of teaching in class. The third part puts forward the three main ways of the situational teaching design including showing pictures,teachers'acting,students'imitation or designing the situation by the requirement of the communication according to the result of former two parts researches.Guided by the theory of the former two chapters,the third chapter is talking about the concrete teaching design of every teaching step. The thesis provided six methods for the lead-in part including showing pictures,raising questions, playing videos and designing the situation or making use of the immediate situation to start the teaching.On the words teaching,the thesis provides four methods which includes showing pictures or real articles,making sentences by using words or phrases or sentences of opposite meaning with the new words, actions and designing the contex.The grammar teaching mainly use the actions to teach;The teaching design of the text and the exercises of the boook is based on the priciples of the conbination of the listening and speaking with the situation.Lead students to imagine the situation at the listening part;Provide the situation for the students at speaking part;Design the situation at the listening and speaking part;Meanwhile lead students to practice listening and speaking in the new situation.The fourth chapter the thesis makes an evaluation and teaching reflection according to the observation of the class and the students' feedback during the author's teaching practice and the questionaire.
