The original text comes from Agricultural Innovation System-An Investment Sourcebook.This book divided into seven modules details the agricultural innovation system.Thematic Note 1 and Thematic Note 2 in Module 3 have been selected in this report,which are mainly about Pluralistic Extension Systems and Farming as a Business and the Need for Local(Agri-)Business Development Services.And this report will make an an analysis and a summary of the translation.Skopos Theory which aims at the purpose and function of translation,caters to requirement of pragmaticism and function in pragmatic translation,so it has the role of guiding for this type's translation.The original text is an introduction of pluralistic extension system and farming as a business,which is a typical pragmatic translation and is useful for target readers to gain knowledge of the field.Therefore,Skopos Theory is applied as the guiding theory in the translating.Based on the analysis of the original text,the translation conveys the original content correctly,achieves expected target and gives the role of guidance to readers.This report is divided into five part: introduction,translation task description,translation process,case analysis and summary of the translation.The introduction is about translation task and the synopsis of translation report;Chapter 1 details the source of translation task;Chapter 2 is about the translation process,including the preparations before translation,the forming of first draft,the modification of the first translation and the forming of the second translation,and the polishing of the second translation and the forming of the final translation;Chapter 3 lists some translation skills applied in the translation by analyzing some cases;and the last chapter draws a conclusion on the achievements and shortcomings in this translation.
