Agricultural Innovation Systems: An Investment Sourcebook belongs to the informative text.This book provides a series of approaches for agricultural innovation development and innovative investment,with the target of promoting the creative and equal growth of the agriculture and the rural area.Therefore,the main propose of this translation is to convey knowledge on innovation,so as to improve the farmers' innovation capacity and quicken the innovative development of agriculture.There are a lot of researches and translations about informative texts within the translation circle.However,the related analysis and research taking agricultural books as the translation material are few.This report,under the guidance of Skopos Theory,tries to put forward several translation methods of the translation of informative text on agricultural books.The research of this report mainly focuses on the translation ways of words and sentences.In the course of translation,the author finds the following two questions.On the translation of the words,the author realizes that although the form and style of the original text is remained by using literal translation,the translated version is extremely obscure.If given excessive equivalence to the source text,sometimes the meaning of the target text will be incomplete or overly burdensome.Consequently,under the guidance of Skopos Theory,the author makes an attempt to take advantage of methods of conversion,amplification and omission to deal with the translation of the words,making the translated text smooth and idiomatic.On the translation of the sentences,the author finds that there are so many long sentences.If there is no serious understanding of their elements,the author may not express the meaning of the original text clearly and better bring the goal of translation come true.So,the author,under the guidance of the theory,tries to translate the long sentences by using combination,division and recasting to make the translation of the meaning of the sentences more clear.Through this translation,the author hopes that the target-text readers can not only know about the approaches of agricultural innovation and innovative investment,but also learn about related experience.
