The quantity of Chinese conjunctions is small,but their function varieties.To foreign students,especially the students speaking English,it is difficult.They think Chinese conjunction is the same as English conjunction,so making a lot of errors.The errors are what we should pay attention to.The errors of Chinese conjunction “Huo zhe”“Hai shi”“Yao mo” are so many,but the research is little.Firstly,this thesis investigates the details of and “Huo zhe”“Hai shi”“Yao mo” and “or” from three aspects of semantics,grammar and pragmatics.In the aspect of semantics,this thesis looks up many dictionaries to contrast the four words.In the aspect of grammar,this thesis contrasts the similarity and difference in the position,quantity,used solely or share and so on.In the aspect of pragmatics,this thesis contrasts the similarity and difference in sentence pattern,subjectivity and completeness.This thesis uses CCL,COCA,BNC to make lots of statistics.Then,the thesis uses Catch-22 and its translation edition into Chinese to contrast the difference of the four words.Then using HSK dynamic composition text corpus and Jinan University text corpus,also using the homework of foreign students who speaking English in Zhongshan University selected by Zhao chengxin and the homework of foreign students who speaking English in Henan University selected by myself,this thesis makes a summary of the type and the reasons of errors.Lastly,according to the disciplinary of the linguistics,psychology and education,the thesis offers three strategies of the teaching.
