Objective: Based on the doctrine of seven emotions,this research applied the principle and methods of modern psychology measurement on developing the standard video database of emotional activation of Joy and Grief,so as to provide the standard instrument for the modern researches and promote the experimental researches on Emotion Inter-resistance Therapy.Method:1.Video material selection: 78 video source files were collected by the methods of internet index,questionnaire survey and expert recommendation.The key clips of those video material were edited and processed.96 video clips which could evoke joy,grief,and calm emotion were finally selected according to the standard procedures for the formation of the candidate pool.2.The subjective assessment of video materials: a total of 180 students,from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences,conducted the emotional subjective assessment on those video materials that was the judgement of the emotional types of the video materials and 9 grades scale of those on intensity,valence,arousal and motivation intensity.This research applied descriptive statistics,t-test,variance analysis,correlation analysis and other methods of data processing for general description and screening of video material.Results: 1.The screening results of video material: 21 happy emotion evoked video,8 grief emotion evoked video and 13 neutral video were ultimately selected according to the hit rate on the results of emotional subjective assessment(more than 70%),emotional intensity(above 6)and the score of valence,arousal and motivation intensity.2.There have significant differences in the three dimensions of valence,arousal and motivation intensity of different types of videos.The results showed that the score of the valence and motivation intensity of joy video,grief video and neutral video had significant difference(p<0.05),whose score from higher to lower were joy video,grief video,neutral video.The score of arousal of joy video and grief video was higher than that of neutral video and the significant difference emerged(p<0.05),but there had no significant difference between the score of arousal of joy video and grief video,even that of grief one was higher than joy one.3.There was a positive correlation between the titer and motivational intensity;the relationship between valence and arousal is when the titer score is in the high level the high arousal,when the titer score is in the low level of the arousal is higher,and was in the middle level,arousal are modest.4.Gender difference: there was significant difference between male and female in the arousal level of the sad video,and the boys were significantly lower than girls(p<0.01).Conclusion: The standard video database of emotional activation of Joy or Grief has been initially established.The video materials selected can better induce a target emotion.Emotion intensity score is reasonable,and each video clip contains the target emotion type,length,hit rate,emotional intensity,valence,arousal and motivation intensity index.In addition,Emotional arousal of different gender shows difference,therefore,the gender factor should be considered when choosing video material.
