The Least Effort Principle Interpreting Tactics In The Application Of Lanzhou Stomatological Hospital

Based on the author's three conference interpretation practice in Lanzhou Stomatological Hospital and the translation of the audio materials,this thesis aims at solving three problems from the prospective of the Principle of Least Effort---how to cope with difficulties in conference interpreting with least effort,how to make the audience fully understand the information,and how to balance the relationship between “speaker's economy” and “listener's economy”.The author makes the “most effort” for preparation,in order to cope with the three major difficulties in interpreting with “least effort” and effectiveness---unclear logic of the speaker,a large amount of information,and cultural differences.By explaining examples taken from conferences,this thesis demonstrates how to choose suitable tactics and has found three tactics in solving the three major difficulties---restructuring with explaining interpretation,omission and domestication.The author hopes that this thesis can offer a guide for conference interpretation in the future.
