A Report On The Interpreting For A Lecture On Prevention And Treatment Of Infantile Common Diseases

The interpreting practice report is based on the consecutive interpreting of a medical science video.The translator makes an in-depth case analysis of difficulties and interpretation problems encountered in the present medical interpretation practice.The report consists of four major parts: task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.The task description is a brief introduction to the interpreting practice,including the task source and significance,the task objective and the outline of the thesis.The process description has two sections: pre-interpreting preparations and process of interpreting.In the pre-interpreting preparations,the interpreter makes a statement of the items before interpreting such as the analysis of the objective text,translating tools preparation and glossary making,Interpretive Theory and the interpreting plan.All the strategies adopted in this thesis are based on Interpretive Theory,so the interpreter will make an introduction to Interpretive Theory.The process of interpreting includes the implementation of the interpreting plan.Case analysis is the main part of this report.In the light of Interpretive Theory,the interpreter will use ideal interpreting strategies to solve the problems appeared in the practice.As a conclusion,the interpreter will make a summary of the whole practice.The strategies may serve as guidance for the interpreters in the interpreting in order to improve the interpreting outcomes.
