As the rhythm of life accelerates and people's pressure increases,more and more people turn to yoga for health and inner peace,which gives a boost to the development of yoga in China.Accordingly,yoga class interpreting also thrives.Compared with interpreting of other kinds yoga class consecutive interpreting has its own characteristics.What's more,the interpreting quality has a direct bearing on the success of the class.Therefore,this kind of interpretation is worth our discussion.This report firstly has a detailed description of the yoga class English-Chinese consecutive interpreting practice on 11 th July 2016.Then,based on Leech's theory of communicative functions of language,specific practice cases are analyzed.Next,to further testify whether the audience accept the improved version under this principle's guidance,a questionnaire survey is conducted among yoga students of different practicing years and at different levels.Finally this report ascertains the applicability of Leech's theory in guiding and evaluating yoga interpreting practices and puts forward suggestions for other yoga interpreters to draw on.Thisreport combines both qualitative approach and quantitative approach.To be specific,literature research method,observation method,and survey method are employed in this report.It is sincerely hoped that this report can somewhat help the theory discussion about yoga interpreting and put some suggestions for yoga interpreting in the future.
