A Study Of Interpretation Based On Schema Theory

With the development of social economy and frequent exchanges between countries,interpreting has been becoming kind of the key part in the world communication,especially on the real-time communicating occasions.Diplomatic negotiations or communication with the special politicalization and significance,put more higher-criteria demands on interpreters.As a significant part of cognitive psychology,schema theory has been applied to the research on interpretation and been exercised its effectiveness on every stage of interpretation.Schemata can be classified into several types.In interpretation-related research,three of them should be emphasized on,which are language schema,content schema and structure schema.Based on schema theory,this dissertation analyzes the application of schemata in listening comprehension and memory,as well as in the selection of word meaning,information storage and forecast,and comprehension of culture-loaded words according to the text of Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meeting the Press at the 12 th NPC.Meanwhile,this dissertation intends to provide some reference for interpreters to raise interpreting efficiency and quality.
