As China has been strengthening its s upport to developing countries,a lot of ministries,for example,Ministry of Commerce,National Development and Reform Commission,Ministry of Agriculture are all having seminars and training courses of this kind on a yearly basis.Consecutive interpreting iswidely used in those training courses.This thesis is a practice report based on my own interpreting services provided for seminars on clim ate change negotiation capacity building for English-speaking African countries co-sponsored by NDRC and Ministry of Commerce.The thesis elaborates on two p reparation processes,namely Powerpoint-driven preparation a nd Topic-driven preparation with focus on omission,source language-driven appr oach and on ways to cope with accent-tinctured source language.S olutions are also provided to make the target language more concise and to relieve the workload on the interpreter.
