| As the largest auto producer and consumer in the world,China is in dire need of knowing global auto market,and auto news E-C trans-editing acts to bridge the information gap between Chinese auto news readership and the global auto market.This report,from the perspective of Adaptation Theory by Jef Verschueren,explores and analyzes the two major problems involved in auto news lead trans-editing the author is engaged in auto.huanqiu.com: problems caused by differences of E-C news lead in writing conventions and problems caused by the ignorance of target readership.In terms of the differences of E-C news lead in writing conventions,they are mainly embodied in discourse structure and writing style.In addition,news value misjudgement and information deficiency are caused by the ignorance of the differences of E-C auto news readerships in reading expectation and background knowledge.These problems tend to render the trans-edited news inconsistent with the reading habit and expectation of Chinese readership,thus preventing the acceptance and distribution of trans-edited news.After classification and analysis of these problems,the author proposes corresponding solutions.To deal with the problems caused by differences of E-C news lead in writing conventions,translators can restructure and adjust the English auto news lead in accordance with the discourse structure of Chinese auto news lead and the writing style of auto.huanqiu.com.As for the problems caused by ignorance of target readership,translators can readjust the focus of auto news lead and add relevant background information on the basis of the differences of E-C auto news readership in value judgement and background information.By studying the trans-editing of auto news lead,this report is expected to provide valuable suggestions for translators engaged in auto news trans-editing. |
