Trans-editing Practice Report On Auto News On Huanqiu Website From The Perspective Of Peter Newmark's Translation Theory

This is a translation practice report,whose translation cases are chosen from the auto news trans-edited by the author on Huanqiu Website.With the development of China's economy and the improvement of living standards,people's demand for auto cars is increasing.More and more people begin to pay attention to the auto news and people's demand for auto news is also increasing constantly.However,English auto news accounts for a large proportion in amount.The number of Chinese readers who can read and understand the English news is confined,so E-C auto news trans-editing becomes a very important way to meet the needs of Chinese readers for auto news.This report consists of four parts.The first part is the description of the translation task.In this part,the author introduces the background of translation task and the features of source text.The second part is the description of translation process.In second part,the author describes the preparation for the translation,translation process and proofreading.The third part is case analysis,which is the core of this report.In this part,the author gives an introduction to the Newmark's translation theory.According to the Newmark's translation theory,the author determines auto news belonging to the informative text which should mainly be translated by communicative translation.Communicative translation requires translators to put target language readers first,leaving no doubt and obscure to the target language readers.Communicative translation gives translators greater freedom to break the limitations of the source text.Translators have to use specific translation methods to make the translation more fluent,concise,clear and direct.Under the guidance of communicative translation,the author analyzes the specific trans-editing methods used in practice from the aspects of the title,word,sentence and paragraph of auto news.The last part is conclusion.In this part,the author sums up the experience and shortage in practice.Through this report,the author has gained a comprehensive understanding of Newmark's translation theory and auto news trans-editing,expecting the experience summed up from the practice can provide some references for my translation practice in the future.
