A Study On E-c Auto News Trans-editing Based On Text Typology Theory

China has become the largest auto market of production and sales in the world.E-C auto news trans-editing is essential for Chinese readers to be informed ofinternational auto news. In this paper, the author probes into auto news trans-editingfrom the perspective of well-known Text Typology Theory. Newmark divides textsinto three types: informative texts, expressive texts and operative texts. He holds thateach text may be classified to more than one type.Text Typology Theory also suggests that different translation strategies should beadopted in the translation of different text types. In the process of E-C auto newstrans-editing, translators should adopt specific strategies giving importance to targetreaders and communication effect. Forty pieces of auto news trans-edited by the authorare collected and analyzed in the paper. Then, the author proposes four methods byexamining the selected examples: addition, deletion, adaption and combination.
