A Practice Report On The Chinese Translation Of "Localization Project Of The WEIR Website (Excerpt)"

In today's trend for the continuous integration of the global economy,science and technology of the whole world also deeply influence our daily life which plays an indispensable role.In recent years,more and more foreign enterprises hope to open China ' s market,therefore,a large number of enterprises establish their websites,especially many engineering enterprises in order to raise their awareness and performance.However,the localization of such websites is lack of standardization.It not only affects the image of enterprises,but also brings the wrong technical information into our country.Therefore,the research of the engineering enterprise website localization is in urgent need.Meanwhile,the characteristics of the times which are rapid and concise determine that the engineering enterprise website spread technology,while meet the commercial demands.In recent years,the application research of Translation Variation Theory in the English for Science and Technology increases because people pay more attention to the Translation Variation Theory.This theory is the scientific principle and ideological system which comes out of translation variation practice,reflecting the essence and law of translation variation.It contains seven methods and eleven ways.This thesis focuses on the application research of the theory,using the chinese translation of the“Localization Project of the WEIR Website” as the research material to research the application of Translation Variation Theory in the engineering enterprise website.This thesis chooses adaption translation and compilation translation in the research.Three methods of the adaption translation and two methods of the compilation translation are employed to analyze the practical cases of the “Localization Project of the WEIR Website”.The result shows that the Translation Variation Theory can be applied to Chinese translation of the engineering enterprise website.
