Nowadays, the economy and culture of various places are under the process of globalization with a rapid speed. As their horizon has been broadened, people are curious about life of famous figures and their desire to read biographies is seen to have increased.Nonetheless, many good English biographies have not been introduced into China. As translators,we are supposed to shoulder the responsibilities of introducing advanced foreign cultures by translating them into Chinese. This report is aimed at analyzing the whole translation process with the help of various related documents, translation theories and many translated biographical documents. The report is based on the two chapters of Mark Twain: Man in White, written by Micheal Sheldon. The translation report is composed of four chapters: the first chapter is a task description, which includes the introduction to the translation task, the book and the author, significance of the translation and structure of the report;the second chapter is the process description, which includes Preparations,While-translating and Proofreading. The third chapter analyzes the specific difficulties encountered in the process of translation within the theoretical framework of the Functional Equivalence Theory. The last chapter is the conclusion of the report,in which the findings, limitations and advantages are summarized.
