Football is known as the world's largest sport,people who love football all over the world locate every corner.As the important source of information,whether it is Chinese media or English media,the occupying proportion of football news in sports news is often the largest.English football news has a long history,many English football news reports have been translated into Chinese so as to enrich the Chinese football news reports.At the same time,China's football is in the development,the tournament level is not high,which also needs to improve the visibility and publicity,therefore,the Chinese football news translation is bound to increase in quantity and quality.The author attempts to find out the aspects that can learn from each other through the comparative study of the characteristics of Chinese and English football news language,and use some relevant translation theories and principles to improve the translation quality of English and Chinese football news and promote more people appreciate and participate in this sport.In the research for football translation practice this time,the author is closer to English football news translation.The author learn a lot of football knowledge and have a strong interest in the English football news translation,so take the translation practice as a topic and write the practice report.This report consists mainly of five parts.The author in the first part mainly describes the translation task,explain the source of the task.The second part the author mainly elaborate the whole translation process,including getting the translation task to start the translation and then to proofreading and learning experience.The third part,the author gives a detailed list of the translation of the preparatory work.The fourth part is the core of this report.In this chapter,the author shared the translation techniques taken in the process of translating English football contents,and combined examples of translation from title,term translation,long sentence translation and cultural differences.The last part,the fifth chapter,the author summarize the experience of this translation practice.These five chapters together could more or less have some reference value for translation of football English text.
