The report studies the interpreting difficulties and strategies encountered in interpreting practice from the perspective of idealized cognitive models(ICM)of cognitive linguistic,based on the interpreting material in Zhangjiajie International Tourism.The major difficulties of this practice includes cultural expression about folk custom and Chinese-English language transformation in introduction to scenic spots.To this end,from the fundamental perspective of cognitive linguistic,ie.Reality-Cognition-Language,the author bridges discrepancy of Chinese and western culture and language through establishment of idealized cognitive model to help the receptors to achieve the ultimate goal of understanding.The first two chapters are task description and task process respectively,describing the pre-communication and preparation of the practice.The core of this report lies in the third chapter,discussing the guidance of ICM applied to case analysis and proposing the strategies,namely,supplementation of culture differences and explanation of cultural connotation differences in terms of culture differences,and adjustment of syntactic structure,and manifestation of logic in terms of language expression.The last chapter concludes the strategies comprehensively and notes the limitation of the report to instruct the interpreting practices in days to come.
