In Modern Chinese Language,“Ba”has become a common sentence pattern which is widely used in both oral and written communication.Chinese Language been taught almost everywhere in the world,“Ba”sentence is a significant grammar point and also appears to be the most difficult pattern for international students to master.This paper makes a contrastive analysis of Chinese sentences with the preposition“Ba”,which connote the meaning of“disposal”and the corresponding French sentences.The work includes analysis of the preceding subject element and the object of“Ba”as well as the location of auxiliary verbs and negative words.The sentence order of the Chinese sentence with“Ba”in Chinese-French translation is always converted into that of the sentences without“Ba”.The French sentences that can be translate into“Ba”sentence in Chinese and this kind of original Chinese sentences share the subject of the same part of speech.Both the object of“Ba”in contrast with the Chinese sentence order without“Ba”,the indirect pronouns follow the direct object pronouns in the French affirmative imperative.If connoting other meanings rather than“disposal”,however the Chinese sentences with“Ba”can be translated more flexibly into French.In addition,this paper is based on a questionnaire entitled“questionnaire on the acquisition and the use of“Ba”sentence by French native speakers”.With the results acquired through the questionnaire,I tried to analyze and find out the most common mistakes made by French speaker students when using“B”sentence.I also came up with some teaching advice as far as“B”is concerned.
