A Report On Oil Trading Manual Translation Practice Under The Guidance Of Skopos Theory

Oil English translation is difficult and it has great practical significance to improve the translation quality of oil industry.Guided by Skopos theory the gradual,systematic,and high-efficiency of oil English translation can be promoted.Under the guidance of Skopos theory,the author completed the translation practice based on the principles of Skopos and fidelity.On the basis of translation practice,this paper summarizes the specific problems encountered in translation from the lexical,syntactic and textual levels,and through specific cases analyze the translation skills adopted in the translation practice,such as interpretation,transliteration,word order adjustments,and restructuring,etc.This practice report consists of five chapters.The first chapter of the practice report mainly introduces the research subject,the research goal and the significance of this translation practice and the report.The second chapter makes a task description,introducing the source text and analyzing the target readers.The third chapter describes the process of the translation practice:(1)Analyze oil English materials to be translated through process preparation,outline their knowledge background,and prepare translation tools;(2)In this part,translator does practice guided by the Skopos theory,and clarify the main role of the theory in the translation process,especially the guiding role of principles of the theory;(3)After translating,revision was done to ensure translation quality under Skopos theory.The fourth chapter specifically analyzes how the principles guide oil English translation on the lexical level,syntactic level and textual level based on the three principles of Skopos theory.The fifth chapter mainly summarizes the current research,points out the deficiencies in the research and proposed prospects in the field.
