In recent years,Liaoning Province has made in-depth progress in educating oversea students,and the subject of teaching Chinese as a Second Language(TCSL)has also achieved significant success.With China expanding its scope of recruiting oversea students,the number of international students in Liaoning province has increased dramatically,among which students who aim to get a diploma of TCSL represents the highest proportion.The Comprehensive course,as a basic course for TCSL,is of pivotal importance to be researched.Until now,few studies on Chinese comprehensive courses for international students could be found in relative research field,it is necessary to investigate the comprehensive Chinese language teaching courses.International students studying at Liaoning province of China are enrolled in various types of colleges and universities,among which engineering colleges and universities are the most popular,including Liaoning University of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering(LUPCE).This dissertation focuses on the primary Chinese comprehensive course for foreign students with academic diploma in LUPCE,analyzing the problems in teaching process,and finally giving some corresponding suggestions.In doing so,this dissertation is divided into five parts.The first part is the brief introduction,which mainly expounds the background information of the topic,the significance of the topic selection,literature review from both domestic and foreign areas,research methods and ideas;The second part is the main body part,providing a detailed investigation and analysis of the current situation of the teaching of elementary Chinese comprehensive courses for foreign students with diplomas at LUPCE.In terms of the current teaching practice,it probes into the curriculum of comprehensive courses,the use of teaching materials,the allocation of teachers and the situation of students;Inthe classroom teaching,investigating the situation of teachers' classroom teaching through the observation method,and investigated the students' learning situation through the questionnaire survey.Then the third part illustrates some problems existing in the primary Chinese comprehensive course for the overseas students of LIPCE from the perspectives of classroom teaching,teachers,students,and textbooks;Correspondently,the forth part puts forward some proposals to address the mentioned issues;Eventually,The fifth part is a summary of the dissertation and some limitations of the research will be elucidated here.This dissertation investigates and studies the current elementary Chinese comprehensive course for international students in LUPCE.By observation and questionnaire survey,the dissertation analyzes the existing problems,and puts forward relevant suggestions in an effort to make positive improvement of the teaching quality of primary Chinese comprehensive courses for oversea student of LUPCE.
