The world of work is rapidly changing with the advent of the Internet, which have blurred the boundary between work and family.Furthermore,in response to global competition and the high pace of innovation, employees must work harder than before.Nevertheless, considering the speed of Chinese aging population and the Two-Child Policy announced by the government a few months ago, employees have to shoulder more family responsibility than before, which results in more difficulties for employees to balance the demands of work and family.Life satisfaction as a traditional core issue for job stress and occupational health research,is an important outcome of work family relationship.Taken together, the research about work variables, work family relationship and life satisfaction is necessary. Two studies were conducted to test the relationship between variables. In study 1,we translated and revised two Family Supportive Supervisor Behaviors(FSSB)scales, and found that two FSSB scales both have good reliability and criterion-related validity using data from a sample of 547 employees from different campanies, but the longform FSSB scale has better construct validity. In study 2,we investigated the effects of workaholism on life satisfaction with a new sample of 472 employees from different companies. The main results are summarized as follows:(1)The long-form FSSB scale is more applicable for future research than the short-form one due to its better reliability and validity.(2)Work fulfilment had positive effects on life satisfaction, while overwork and work priorities both had negative significance on life satisfaction.(3)Work-family facilitation mediated the relationship between work fulfilment and life satisfaction, and work-family conflict played a mediator role between overwork, work priorities and life satisfaction respectively.(4)FSSB plays a moderating role between overwork and workfamily conflict, work priorities and life satisfaction respectively.(5)Work role salience moderated the relationship between work priorities and work-family conflict.
