A Repor On The Interpreting For The Visiting Delegation Of Blacktown City,Australia To Liaocheng City

The 21st century witnesses the frequent communications between China and various countries in such fields as politics,economy and culture.In recent years,with the rising of China's international status,there is an increasing number of exchanges between local governments of China and foreign countries,thus interpretation is playing a more and more prominent role in international cooperation.As the bridge of intercultural communication,interpreting leads to mutual understanding and integration between different cultures.And as one type of interpreting activities,escort interpreting is more and more widely used in cross-cultural communication.This is a consecutive interpreting practice report which is based on the author's interpretation experience during the visit of the government delegation led by Mayor of Blacktown City,Australia to Liaocheng City from September 21st to 24th,2017.Through analyzing various cases in this interpreting process,this report aims to strengthen people's understanding of escort interpretation and interpreting skills.This report consists of four chapters.Chapter One explains the relevant background of the task,as well as the characteristics and the requirements of the task.Chapter Two describes the whole interpretation process,which mainly focuses on the preparation phase from four aspects:background materials,language,physics and psychology and simulated interpreting.Chapter Three is the core part of the report,in which the author describes the difficulties that the author had encountered during this task and the techniques she had used to solve problems through analyzing examples.Chapter Four summarizes the relevant experience and the errors made in this task,finds the corresponding solutions,and makes suggestions for future learning and practice of interpreting.
