An Escort Interpreting Report On The Foreign Aid Training Program

This is a practice report on escort interpreting for a foreign aid training program.The author acted as an interpreter for the Seminar on Technologies for Dairy Products and Food Processing in Hohhot,Inner Mongolia on September,16^th,2019.The author recorded this interpreting practice which lasted about 153 minutes and transcribed it into a text,and then accordingly composed this practice report.Based on the interpreter's practical activity,this report includes four parts,namely,introduction,task process,case analysis and conclusion.There are three difficulties in the practice:accents of foreign officials;terms related to the food industry;and repetitions of Chinese speakers.These difficulties are analyzed via typical cases in the report.In the meantime,the author put forward some techniques to solve these difficulties,which are explanation,amplification and omission.The author illustrated multiple examples and gave detailed explanations.Therefore,this report can provide references and insights for related interpreting practice.
