Mental Health Of Public Security Police In Gansu Province,Its Causing Factors And Countermeasures

A large number of documents and survey data indicate that the current police ’ s mental health is not optimistic, but the current enforcement environment and the public expectation still put forward higher requirements for the police profession, which requires the police have a better psychological quality, respond to occupational and life stress.According to “ Gansu Province Police Psychological Health and Social Support correlation ” project design that with No. 1205ZCRA167 funded by Gansu Province Science and Technology Program, the project team of Gansu Province Public Security Department counties a wide range of survey on every Bureau police of Gansu. in same time,we carry out teaching activities such as training, counseling and interviews. For the grassroots while data collection, During that,the project team members visited major sites involved in Longnan, Longdong and Hexi three main directions, including Chengguan of Lanzhou, Jingyuan of Baiyin, Lintao of Dingxi, Hezheng of Linxia,Zhouqu of Gannan, Wudu of Longnan,Jiuquan of Suzhou, Shandan of Zhangye, Wuwei of Tianzhu, Gangu of Tianshui, JingChuan of Pingliang, Xifeng of Qingyang and other 12 county-level Bureaus.Jurying the procedure, used tools were Symptom Checklist(SCL-90), Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS), burnout scale.using SPSS21.0 for summarize and analyze the data. Under the Political Department of Gansu Provincial Public Security Bureau coordination and help, follow Systematic sampling approach,4050 people has conducted a survey whom from 84 counties Public Security Bureau of the province, there 21 kind of the police took the questionnaire such as office, political, discipline, equipment finance,security, household political, criminal investigation, immigration, fire, etc., collected all4050 cases, 3857 effective accounting for 95%. male police 2881, rate of 74.7%; 976 female rate of 25.3%.The empirical study found that police in the region of Mental Health showed gender, age, educational level, geographical differences, social support, job burnout affecttheir mental health. The results show that a variety factors of social support include favorable environment for law enforcement, the police building, relationships, etc., is important positive energy to adjust burnout and improve mental health.Thereby fully understand and grasp the overall situation and the main features of the police mental health, mining and make good use of the individual social support resources, And conducting outreach,education and cultivate of psychological knowledge,to lay the foundation to develop and implement effective measures in crisis prevention and intervention for the province police, ultimately, by increasing the degree of harmony of individual to enhance the group, improving the effect of the enforcement.
