Research On The Influence Of Village Disintegration On Rural Development

Under the background of rapid urbanization development, China's rural politics, economy, culture and technology have been continuously developed and progressed, the original villages state has been broken and disintegrated. It is in this case that the village has been continuously impacted by the market economy and the boundary of village community is constantly being broken. The symbiotic traditional rural civilization and etiquette order are gradually being swallowed up. Hence the villages are facing a fate of disintegration and decentralization, even “disappearance”. Since China's villages has features such as diversity, diversification and complexity, the tide of modernization and urbanization will devour some of them, but not all face a doomed-to-be-ended fate. A considerable part of villages will suffer different levels of disintegration under the influence of modern science, politics, culture and other factors.This research investigates the disintegration of a suburban village N under the background of urbanization. It applies literature research method, participant observation and interviewing method to describes the development trend of village disintegration from six aspects of village geography, resident population and its size, village economic structure, village public life, village culture and village elite function based on the theory of village community. It also discusses the influence of village disintegration on rural development.Through the research, it is found that current trend of village disintegration is mainly manifested as following: the geography gradually offsets to the center of politics, economy and transportation. Family population tends to miniaturization; resident population reduces; villager structure becomes simple; decline of traditional agricultural production, changes of land value, disappearance of collective economy, diversity of career choice; frequency of villager collective activity decreases; folk culture dilutes; interaction and exchange between villagers become indifferent; religious belief gets enriched; diversification of values; legal consciousness enhances; political consciousness promotes; the function of village political elites weakens; economic elites play a increasingly important role, social elites play a diluting function. The impact of village disintegration on rural development mainly includes macro level and micro level. Therefore, in view of the current situation of China's rural disintegration, state and society should properly intervene, mainly include: the government increases investment in rural governance resources, respects village spontaneous order, erects a new type of village community, gives full play to farmers' autonomy, so as to help the villages with establishing a sustainable social community. Meanwhile, it should clear management idea and management direction, assist the villages' transformation and development in a proper way.
