Study On The Problems And Countermeasures Of Social Rescue Of Street Children

At the end of the 20 th Century, the problem of street children has become a worldwide issue. As a country in the reform and development, street children has become a group which can not be ignored in the current society. According to a study conducted by the Ministry of civil affairs, the total number of street children in our country is about 1 million – 1.5 million. The existence of such a large scale of street children, has led to a high degree of attention from all sectors of society and governments at all levels. Our country has already begun to solve this problem. Led by the Ministry of civil affairs, with the cooperation of local governments, the country has established more than 130 homeless child protection centers. Social organizations also make contribution to the problem. However, whether it is the center of the street children rescue or social organizations, it still faces a lot of confusion and problems in practice. Taking Xuzhou city as an example, with the use of survey research methods and empirical research methods, describing the social assistance of Xuzhou city under the background of the assistance and protection of the plight of children. And it clears that the social assistance difficulties and problems of Xuzhou city. The problems include: lacking of prevention work, incomplete laws and regulations, the lack of professional staff, the lack of cooperation between the various departments of consciousness, incomplete development of non-governmental organizations, and so on.In order to effectively solve the problems encountered in the work, the study puts forward some policy suggestions by research of the experience of Britain, the United States, Thailand.
