The Study Of International Conflicts In The View Of Framing Theory

As a global political phenomenon,international conflicts and disputes are inevitable in the national association.As the watcher of social reality,international conflict has undoubtly been included in news.Because the case involved reflect the world situation,international relations and national interests,,different countries in dealing with international conflict have its own reporting guidelines.At the beginning of the 21 st century,some scholars have lamented the Chinese media depend on western capitalist media when report the international news,this practice almost forgot China's position and perspectives in the conflict,After ten years of development,how is Chinese media to present international conflicts ?At the end of 2013 massive protests were broken out in Ukraine,then the conflict developing into bloodshed till the whole year of 2014,attract global media's attention.This article is intended to use the Ukraine Crisis news reported by CCTV-4 "China News",using quantitative and qualitative content analysis method,in order to analyse the frame of the mainstream media coverage.This research is divided into four chapters:the first chapter is mainly about the background and the perpose of this research,the basis to choose the China News and the Ukraine Crisis as the research object,and a review of the empirical research achievements at home and abroad.Chapter II is designed to introduce the research methods,including sampling design,construction of concepts and categories,etc,Chapter III is the result of data analysis,include two respects,the frame of the whole reports at macro level and the image of Vladimir Putin from leadership frame at micro level.Chapter IV is the conclusion of this research and the deficiencies of the project.The main conclusions are: ?China News?focus on conflict,attribution of responsibility,major power relationship frames,the attention paid to human interest,leadership and economic consequences frames are relatively small.When we take Russian President Vladimir Putin as a case to analyze leadership frame,we find Putin showed the following image:a powerful leader against the west countries,a leader beloved by his people,a leader respect the will of Ukraine people and the international law.On the whole,the image is positive.There are some problems in these reports,first is the excessive reliance on foreign information sources,second is focus on presenting international relations conflicts,Human care frame and news from economic perspective needs to be strengthened,third is the image of politicians are not objective.In the Ukraine Crisis report,China News use more information from Russian media,the image of Russian President is positive,all reflect that national interests and foreign policy influence our media reports.
