At present, the peaceful development of cross-strait relations is facing important challenges and crises. How to explain, maintain and develop cross-strait relations is the top priority for Taiwan'sresearch. This paper attempts to analyze the political consciousness of the Taiwan people according to the core theory of social constructivism in international relations, with a view to exploring a new way to promote cross-strait relations through the study of political consciousness construction. The main idea of the thesis is regard political consciousness as a kind of shared knowledge(culture)created by Taiwan people in social interaction. This political consciousness in turn constructs the identity and interests of Taiwan people and regulates their political behavior in the political process. In addition to laying out the background theoretical knowledge, the logic of writing is divided into three clues:Firstly, the definition of the political consciousness of the Taiwan people under the vision of constructivism, including the definition, the subjects(actor and actor-center),aspects("real" and "imaginary")and performance types(the Hobbesian culture, the Lockean culture, the Kantian culture). The second is about the representation of political consciousness and how to construct it.The representation of political consciousness has two forms:"I" and "me",the construction of the former is accomplished through the three stages of self-hypothesis,self-revision and self-internalization,the latter is mainly achieved through positive and mutual assistance and finding effective others. Finally, the times questioning of the Taiwan people 's political awareness, reached the conclusion that "Taiwan independence" is not feasible and the external factors of the Taiwan issue are also difficult to eliminating.
