As early as the Second World War,the United States and Australia have formed a wartime alliance.With the change of international situation,relations between the two countries have gone through a process from loose to tight,and then loose to tight.However,the Obama administration has put great efforts to implement the Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy since early 2010,Australia has got the United States focus attention because of its geographical advantages,historical ties and common values.The paper finds that the U.S.has put more attention to strengthening political side in Australia by holding annual "2+2"meeting and frequent visits of heads of state in recent years,which is different from emphasizing military and security only in the past.The paper puts an analysis on the contents of the U.S.policy on Australia according to Obama's global deployment adjustment and summarizes the characteristics of the U.S.policy on Australia,specifically,obvious containment against China,multilateral strategic dialogue mechanism and security cooperation and the emphases on the U.S.and Australia's common value.Under the circumstances,we must explore activeness and reduce negative impacts on China.Therefore,the paper concludes that the effect of the U.S.policy on Australia is largely dependent on the results of the three party interactions between China,the United States and Australia.At last,the paper puts an analysis on the impact and guide for China from the increasing trend of the U.S.policy on Australia.The paper explains the latest developments in the U.S.policy on Australia,it's of great importance to understand the connotation of modernization in the US alliance system for Asia-Pacific areas,the impact of the U.S. and Australia Alliance for the architecture of the Asia-Pacific Region and judge the trend of the U.S.policy on Australia.
