"9.11" incident has made Central Asia become the focus of US global strategy.The strategic position of Central Asia has suddenly increased. The United States has entered a period of overall expansion of its Central Asia strategy. The United States has entered a period of overall expansion of its Central Asia strategy. Military and security considerations became more important factors in U.S. engagement in Central Asia. Central Asia changed from an area of peripheral interest to one that commanded a much higher priority in America’s strategy, although the region’s importance was based primarily on its role as an adjunct to Afghan stabilization efforts rather than a priority in and of itself. After Obama came to power, the US government began a new round of strategic contraction, especially with the proposal and implementation of Asia-Pacific "rebalancing" strategy. At the same time, Afghanistan withdrawal plan has been completed. US policy towards Central Asia will be shrink. In this paper, on the basis of the evolution of policy in Central Asia since the five Central Asian country’s independence, we analyzed the adjustment of US policy towards Central Asia under the background of Asia-Pacific "rebalancing" strategy. Summarizing the specific content of the policies’ adjustment in Central Asia under the background of Asia-Pacific "rebalancing" strategy, we briefly analysis the adjustment of the policy that US made in Central Asia. Then on the basis of this, we try to make a few observations on the prospects for US policy towards Central Asia in the future.
