A Study On The U.S. Factor In The Sino-ROK Relations

People's Republic of China and Republic of Korea are neighbors across the sea.Good relations between China and South Korea is not only in the interests of both countries,but also has a significant and far-reaching significance for peace and stability in Northeast Asia.After the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea,it shows the relationship between political and military-level mutual trust and cooperation is lagging far behind the level of economic relations.In general,diplomatic relations between nations are determined not only by the interests of both countries,but also by the external factors.The bilateral relations between the two nations have surpassed the bilateral diplomatic sphere,it has been increasingly affected by some external factors.Among all of these factors,the U.S.factor in Sino-ROK relations is particularly noticeable.In recent years,on one hand the Sino-ROK relations have developed rapidly;on the other hand the structural contradictions between China and the United States have become increasingly prominent,the U.S.factor in the Sino-ROK relations is now becoming increasingly apparent.The U.S.-ROK alliance is not only an important basis for the United States to implement its East Asian strategy,but also a pillar of South Korea's security and the center of diplomacy.How to better maintain Sino-ROK relations is an urgent problem to be solved.This paper will be divided into four chapters,cut into three fields--the political,security and economic to find out the U.S.factors in Sino-ROK relation,and then try to make the appropriate recommendations for the above phenomenon.Part 1 focuses on the U.S.factor in the Sino-ROK political relations.After a brief review of the formation of China-ROK strategic partnership,the article will focus on the impact of the US factors on Sino-ROK relations by focusing on the interaction between China,the United States and the ROK in the North Korean nuclear issue and the interaction between US-ROK alliance and the Sino-ROK partnership.Finally it will summarize the corresponding results.Part 2 focuses on the U.S.factor in the Sino-ROK security relations.It will firstly review the development of Sino-Korean security cooperation and summarizes the progress of military exchanges between the two countries.Then this part will discuss how the U.S.factors restraint on the military relations between China and South Korea.Part 3 focuses on the U.S.factors in economic relations between China and South Korea.After 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea,the economic field is the highlight of the bilateral relations between the two countries and the largest of the common interests of the two countries.This chapter first reviews the development of economic relations between China and South Korea,then summarizes the achievements of Sino-ROK economic and trade cooperation.After summarizing the current problems in the current economic relations between China and South Korea,this chapter will analyze the impact of U.S.factors on China and South Korea continue to deepen economic cooperation,explore the role of American factors in the economic relations between China and South Korea.Finally the conclusion will summarize the contents of this paper.The particularity of Sino-ROK relations is that South Korea cannot get rid of the constraints on its relations with USA,which means that the formulation of its foreign policy is difficult to get rid of the constraints of the US factor.In this regard,when it comes to developing the Sino-ROK relations,China cannot simply believe that to increase the economic interdependence of both sides can improve the bilateral relations,but should inspect this bilateral relations in the overall situation of Sino-U.S.relations as well as pay high attention to the impact and constraints of the U.S.-ROK alliance.In addition,the existence of the American alliance system all around China is a basic fact,to strengthen the peripheral diplomacy must consider the U.S.factor.Many of China's "partnership countries" are also the allies of the United States,therefore the analysis of what effect the U.S.alliance relations on China's bilateral relations will have has a certain representation.The analysis of the U.S.factor in the development of Sino-Korean relations has a clearly considerable demonstration effect which can be used as a reference for the study of the paradigm.
