Exploring The Practical Path: Community Development To Community Building

Community construction and community governance is developing rapidly under the force of The Central Committee of the Communist of China and the government.A variety of effective community work practice model is carried out under the impetus of the social organizations actively.Contemporary urban community work is mainly carried out by the grass-roots government and community social organizations as the leading force,and a top-down community development model is formed.Although the contemporary urban community both in human resources and material resources is very rich,and the community development has effectively solved the problems of residents' contact and alienation,lack of community participation,and community participation of residents,However,the community development model is far from enough to solve the problems of weak community consciousness,lack of social capital and insufficient integration of assets.In the process of community building,community participation and active construction of residents play an important role in the development and transformation of community work.Therefore,the effective practice of community work not only to see the results in the community of hardware construction and problem solving,but also to create a community atmosphere,construct the social capital,empower the community capacity and form the community awareness.And then promote the community construction gradually from the grass-roots government and social organizations led top-down community development model into a residents led bottom-up community building modelIn this study,Z community in Guangzhou was taken as the research object.Through literature review and case study,the community workers were studied how to carry out community work and community empowerment.Developing and nurturing community capabilities and community capital that were not or did not manifest in the community,so that these capabilities,capital,and conditions were gradually improved By accumulating community capital,enhancing residents' ability and community awareness,making community residents become the main body of community participation and community construction with ability and consciousness.The implementation of community work isgradually changed from the grass-roots government as the leading force of community development model to community residents as the leading force of community building community model.Finally,to achieve the accumulation of community power,to complete the transformation of community empowerment,to promoting sustainable development in communities.
