Objective In China,the government comprises the following components: central,provincial(autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government),prefecture-level cities(districts),county,and townships.Township governments constitute the basic state administrative organization and area critical bridge between the state and the people.It is generally believed that township cadres,regarded as basic executors of state policy,play an important role in society.Their job performance directly influences the effectiveness of party and government policies,the perceived public reputation of the government,the country's economic development,and the advancement of socialist modernization.Previous studies have shown that leading township cadres suffered from increased mental health problems,high stress and anxiety due to increasing workload,high social expectations,low political treatment,slow career development,low economic outcomes,combined with a monotonous life,childrearing and health pressures.At present,the existing literature has studied the occupational stress level of civil servants at the grass-roots level.AS special grass-roots workers,most township cadres also have occupational stress.The result variables caused by occupational stress have also attracted the attention of the majority of scholars.Domestic and foreign studies on the relationship between occupational stress and anxiety propensity of teachers,medical staff,and corporate workers show that occupational stress can lead to anxiety,and occupational stress can affect the mental health of professional staff.Domestic literature studies show that most of township officials are at a low level of job satisfaction.At the same time,studies in other occupational groups show that occupational stress is an important factor affecting job satisfaction.In the study of the relationship between occupational stress and anxiety tendency and job satisfaction,the mediating role of psychological capital has also received extensive attention from scholars at home and abroad.The literature has shown that psychological capital plays an intermediary role in the relationship between occupational stress and anxiety tendency of nurses.Research at home and abroad found that positive psychology resources have a positive influence on job satisfaction as a positive psychological resource.Based on the above theoretical support,this study proposes the following research hypotheses 1-6 Hypothesis1: Occupational stress is associated with anxiety symptoms among township cadres;Hypothesis1a: Occupational stress(effort-reward ratio,overcommitment)dimension is positive associated with anxiety symptoms;Hypothesis2: Occupational stress has a positive effect on anxiety among township cadres;Hypothesis3: Occupational stress is associated with job satisfaction among township cadres;Hypothesis3a: Occupational stress(effort-reward ratio)is negative associated with job satisfaction;Hypothesis3b: Occupational stress(overcommitment)dimension is positive associated with job satisfaction;Hypothesis4: Occupational stress has a predict effect on job satisfaction among township cadres;Hypothesis5: Psychological capital(self-efficacy,hope,resiliency,optimism) has a mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress and anxiety symptoms among township cadres;Hypothesis6: Psychological capital(self-efficacy,hope,resiliency,optimism)has a mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress and job satisfaction among township cadres;Methods In this research,choosing township in Liaoning Province as sampling frame,a multi-stage random sampling method was conducted on 1800 township cadres,randomly selected from 46 townships of 4 cities in Liaoning Province.The questionnaire included demographic characteristics,effort-reward imbalances questionnaire(EIR),psychological capital questionnaire(PCQ),enter for Selft-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),and Minnesota satisfaction questionnaie(MSQ)were used to measure the township cadres' demographic information,occupational stress,psychological capital,anxiety symptoms and job satisfaction.The analysis methods include: Descriptive analysis,internal consistency test,t test,analysis of variance,correlation analysis,multiple regression analysis and model fitting.Epidata 3.0 software,SPSS17.0 and Amos 7.0 were performed.Results In this research,the reliability and validity of the ERI,PCQ,SAS and MSQ were good.Sex,education level,have significant effects on anxiety symptoms.Marital state,education level,duties,monthly income,have significant effects on job satisfaction.Occupational stress has a predict effect on anxiety symptoms among township cadres,self-efficacy has a partial mediating role in the relationship between effort-reward ratio and anxiety symptoms.Occupational stress has a effect on job satisfaction among township cadres;self-efficacy,hope,resiliency,has a partial mediating role in the relationship between effort-reward ratio and intrinsic job satisfaction;self-efficacy,hope,resiliency,has a partial mediating role in the relationship between overcommitment and intrinsic job satisfaction.Hope,optimism has a partial mediating role in the relationship between effort-reward ratio and extrinsic job satisfaction.Self-efficacy,hope,resiliency,optimism,resiliency has a partial mediating role in the relationship between effort-reward ratio and overall job satisfaction;self-efficacy,hope,resiliency,optimism,resiliency has a partial mediating role in the relationship between overcommitment and overall job satisfaction.Conclusions 1?Demographic variables have significant effects on anxiety symptoms and job satisfaction.2?In this study,we confirmed occupational stress had a positive effect on anxiety symptoms township cadres and had a negative effect on job satisfaction.3 ? Psychological capital(self-efficacy)has a partial mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(effort-reward ratio)and anxiety symptoms;psychological capital(self-efficacy,hope,resiliency)has a partial mediating role in the relationship between effort-reward ratio and intrinsic job satisfaction;psychological capital(hope,optimism)has a partial mediating role in the relationship between effort-reward ratio and extrinsic job satisfaction;psychological capital(self-efficacy,hope,resiliency,optimism)has a mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(effort-reward ratio)and overall job satisfaction;and has a mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(overcommitment)and overall job satisfaction.
