In recent years,the safety problems of left-behind children in rural areas have frequently occurred,which has seriously affected the healthy growth of left-behind children,the happiness of families as well as the harmony and stability of our society.This article analyses the current safety education situation of left-behind children by collecting research data through literature method,questionnaire survey method and interview method.Based on the analysis of data,this article made a further study of safety education of left-behind children in rural areas by group work.Establishing a group,named Safety Accompany and Happy Growth,taking the growth characteristics of children into account,based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Bandura's social learning theory,we achieved good results.In the eight group activities,we used many integrated methods such as participatory learning,video teaching and scenario simulation,which enhanced the interest and effectiveness of group work.The study found that: First,the safety awareness of left-behind children in X village is relatively weak,lacking of safety knowledge and skills,and shows gender differences.Second,many problems had been found in the process of safety education of left-behind children in X village,such as lacking of affection from parents,poor social guidance and insufficient resources for school safety education.Third,the application of group work methods in the safety education of left-behind children in rural areas is effective and is deeply loved by children,so it is worthy of promotion.Fourth,the group work involved in the safety education has an obvious effect on enhancing the safety awareness of left-behind children.Fifth,many methods such as participatory learning,video teaching and scenario simulation in group activities can attract those children and achieve education goal.
