Founctioncal Movement Screening can be used to measure a person's flexibility and stability, also, FMS is effective in the prediction and prevention of sport related injuries. FMS focuses on dysfunctions and imbalances in sports, and helps to adjust sport movements to be healthier and more secure. Since FMS could help determine sports injury risks, it can be used as an addon to the traditional physical performance tests. This study uses FMS to screen for potential injury risks, discovering the deficiency in basic functional movement such as flexibility and stability for athletes who participates in different sports; furthermore, this study attempts to formulate trageted training plans and intervention protocols for two rowing athletes to reduce potential injuries. The result reveals that:(1) the shoot team scored 14 points on average;(2) A comparison between male and female athletes' average FMS scores revealed that the female athletes scored slightly higher than male in shoulder mobility and active straight-leg raise, however, the male athletes scored significantly higher in trunk stability push-up and rotary stability than the female;(3) 40 out of 55 athletes participated in the study experienced injury;(4) as a result of aging, older athletes are scored lower than the younger ones, thus have a higher risk of injuries;(5)in this study, the maximum cut-off point of Youden's index was used to test the accuracy of FMS's prediction to sport related injuries. The result shows that the athletes who scored 15 or lower has higher risks of getting injuried(57%) than those who are above(36%), therefore, the results are more accurate when using 15 as the FMS cut-off point to perdict injury risks. The two intervention subjects showed improvement executing their moves and scored higher than before, in some tasks they even reached perfect score. Better movement pattern and lower injury risks is not only beneficial for athletes when they proceed to more specialized and more intensed training, but also crucial for the improvement in their athletic performance.
