The Operation Mechanism Of Students' Participation In Colleges And Universities' Management

In retrospect to the history of the development of higher education, from the medieval students' guild to consumers of higher education, students always play important roles and shoulder the important responsibilities in higher education or university. With the emergence and development of China's civil society, policies of the modernization of national management system and management ability, and the dominant position of students, this study focuses on the realistic situation of the operation mechanism of students' participation in the management of colleges and universities and is divided into the following four parts:The first part is the relevant theories of the operation mechanism of students' participation in colleges and universities' management. On the one hand, this study defines the core concepts, such as students' participation, colleges and universities' management and the operation mechanism. On the other hand, in order to lay a solid theoretical basis, from the perspective of management, sociology, economics and other disciplines, this study applies comprehensively the stakeholder theory, group dynamics theory and mechanism design theory, etc.The second part is the necessity of constructing the operation mechanism of students' participation in colleges and universities' management. It's necessary to construct the operation mechanism for establishing the dominant position of students in university management, promoting the practice of democratic management in colleges and universities and accelerating the transformation of higher education.The third part is to explore the operation mechanism of students' participation in colleges and universities' management. The existed problems of the operation mechanism: students' participatory qualities remain to be promoted, the scope of students' participation is very limited, the value orientation of students' participation is deviated, participatory mechanism and the environment are lack of interaction, the procedure of students' participation isn't effective and participation channels is very single, etc. The reasons are lack of practical experience and participatory idea, unsoundness of colleges and universities' management system, faultiness of the existing legal system, etc.The fourth part is the countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen the operation mechanism of students' participation in colleges and universities' management. First of all, the construction of the operation mechanism of students' participation in colleges and universities' management is premised on the operation mechanism of colleges and universities' management, as well as on the student's own law of development. And the construction keeps to the principle of human nature, scientificity, systematicness and operability, etc. Secondly, the paths of the operation mechanism's construction are promoting students' participatory qualities, expanding the scope of students' participation, adjusting the value orientation of students' participation, optimizing the environment of students' participation, improving the procedure of students' participation and enriching the channels of students' participation.
