At present, China is in the aging trend, and more and more empty nesters whose attendant risk has become increasingly prominent. The body of the elderly hypogonadism and exercise capacity decrease, especially balance significantly reduces, resulting in an increased risk of falls in older people. According to the elderly body condition in this study, we used low-intensity yellow elastic band for the elderly for 12 weeks of instructional exercise which aimed at upgrading the elderly muscular strength, to enhancing elderly balance and reducing the risk of falling. This study selected 60-72 year-old community elderly, including 8 males and 12 females, with self-control experiments and no control group. Each exercise was split into three parts, namely basic warm-up session, elastic resistance band practice session and stretching relaxation links. During the elastic band resistance exercise, subjects adjusted according to their exercise intensity, so that the subjects heart rate remained at 75-105 beats per minute, this process cannot practice breath and combined with music. To increase the core area of the lower extremity muscle strength and muscle strength for the purpose, we designed eight elastic band resistance movements, each action intermittent 5min, a practice common action three groups, each 15 times, intermittent group and the group is 30-60s.Results:Using the Berg Balance Scale for evaluating the elderly and balance function based on the risk of falls, muscle strength tester is used isokinetic muscle strength and grip strength were measured. After 12 weeks elastic band resistance exercise measured results and targets before the experiment were compared using statistical software SPSS 19.0 for data post-processing multi-factor analysis of variance results, lower limb extensor and flexor peak torque Phonak change from having a significant difference (P<0.05), upper limb forearm strength grip changes are also having a significant difference (P<0.05), Berg balance scale total score has a very significant difference variation (P<0.01), in which a single leg standing time increases very significantly (P<0.01), the reaction speed, reaction time is shortened very significant (P<0.01). Final conclusions are as follows:(1) Before and after the experiment of lower extremity flexor and extensor muscle strength were increased, there was a marked increase grip strength, with a significant difference, indicating that low-intensity intermittent elastic band resistance exercise can significantly increase the elderly lower extremity muscle strength and forearm strength;(2) Before and after the experiment Berg Balance Scale scores increased significantly, independent leg standing time increases, shorten the reaction time, it has a very significant difference, indicating elastic band resistance exercise can significantly improve the balance of the elderly, effective reduce the risk of falls in older people.Elastic band resistance training exercise in daily life for the elderly, not bound by time and place, the home can be done on their own. During the exercise can also add music, so boring exercise more interesting, we recommend the old university or community center for senior citizens will be introduced into the elastic band, dance or square dance compiled using novel equipment to attract older people to join activities, such an increase in muscle strength and balance at the same time, rich leisure life of the elderly, the elderly reduce loneliness.
