In 2010, the master of library and information science was finally established,the education of library, information and archive management entered the track stage which included academic degree and professional degree. In 2013, the scale was expended, the training units reached thirty-one. After seven years,the education of MLIS has accumulated some experience, it also faced some problems.Thus, it is necessary to know the talent requirement and training status of MLIS to provide reference for perfecting the training model.This thesis mainly focuses on the problems of the talent demand and the talent training status, firstly, based on the first discipline of library information and archive management and the survey data, this thesis analyzes the current situation,problems and causes of talent demand from the the angle of substantive departments. Then, the thesis compares the difference of training model between academic degree and professional degree form six angles,they are training objective, training subject,curriculum designing, teaching methods,practice teaching and graduation study. In addition, based on the first discipline of library information and archive management,the author choose four training units, compare their training models form seven angels:training objective, training age, training method, training direction,enrollment targets,teaching power and curriculum.In order to improve the talent requirement and training status of MLIS and enhance the training quality MLIS graduate. The thesis offers four recommendations:Firstly, enhancing the social awareness for MLIS, it include three aspects: a proper understanding of their educational process; positioning its training objectives accurately; defining its core competencies scientifically. Secondly, optimizing the structure of teachers and paying attention to the quality of education, thus enhancing the literacy of participants. Thirdly, optimizing the teaching conditions for MLIS education from three aspects:enhancing the curriculum, improving teaching methods and specification graduation study. Forth, improving the professional certification and system assessing education quality, thus, providing an institutional guarantee for the quality of education of MLIS.
