Selection of athletes is based on the principle and method of science,comprehensive evaluation of athletes and predict its innate athleticism, talent selection since childhood from the congenital condition is superior.Biology in the 20 th century has experienced the development from macro to micro, from the description of morphology, phenotype, refined, the step by step to the various molecular and function of the organism.Athletes selecting gradually from macro to micro, from the original body shape, physical quality, material selection, development to the study of physiological and biochemical indexes, with the development of genetic engineering technology, gene selection also become the focus of research selection.Objective : To observe the effects of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)of Nicotinamide N- methyl transferase(NNMT) genes on athletic capacity, identify the significantly associated variation, and then analyzed the possible influencing mechanism of the identified SNPs to athletic ability. Methods: In 684 han nationality male college students as the research object, first of all, according to their test scores in the 1000 m run, the average is divided into four equal parts, take the best(fastest)in the top 25% of 1000 m grades better group(1000 bg, n = 1000), from 25 to 75%random pick up 171, 1000 m in the control group(CG) in 1000, after the worst record(the slowest) 25%(n = 171) was abandoned.In the same way, according to their test scores 50 m running, is divided into four equal parts, pick the fastest 25% to 50 m better group(50 bg, n = 171), random take 171 from 25-75%, 50 m in the control group(CG) 50, after the worst record(the slowest) 25%(n = 171) was abandoned.Then 19 was determined by the label method of gene research site(Tag-SNPs), the last of the 19 Tag- SNPs genotype and relative subjects vo2 Max and parts of body composition indexes were tested.Results: 19 SNPs are accord with H- W balance(P > 0.05), and found no associated with 50 m sport ability has significant sites(P > 0.05), but found a site(rs2256292) mutations associated with 1000 m sport ability significantly(P < 0.01), the CC type 1000 m test scores is best, GG type times,CG worst type;overdominance genetic effect is obvious;Rs2256292 1000 m sportability between different genotypes(1000 m run completion time), CC, GG and CG to complete 1000 m time(in seconds) were 239.02 + /- 22.78 s, 243.58 + /- 30.74 s and30.74 + /- 30.36 s, CC type is best, GG second, CG is the worst, and between CC and CG, CC + GG and CG has significant difference(P < 0.05).1000 m run completion time is associated with relative VO2 max is significant(P < 0.01), and a negative correlation, the greater the relative VO2 max, are completed in the 1000 m run time is less, that the better the performance;CG 1000 bg(Case) and 1000(Control) relative VO2 max comparison results between the Case group was 45.333 + /- 7.946, the Control group was 42.032 + /- 6.797, P < 0.05, 1000 bg is significantly higher than1000 CG;Rs2256292 relative VO2 max of the comparison results between different genotypes, CC, GG and CG were 45.699 + /- 6.540, 44.209 + /- 7.976 and 7.976 + /-7.240(ml/kg/min).Is the CC type, biggest GG second, CG worst, including between CC and CG, CC + GG and CG has significant difference(P < 0.05);Rs2256292between different genotypes of different parts of the relative to the comparison of soft fat weight, from the general relative to soft body weight, fat around upper limbs,lower limbs and torso right relative to soft body weight, fat is CC, GG second largest,CG minimum and CC and CG in the right leg, left leg and torso compared to fat soft weight has significant difference(P < 0.05). Conclusion: NNMT gene polymorphism of 50 m sport ability effect is not obvious, but for 1000 m sport ability have a significant impact, including rs2256292 variation caused by the relative VO2 max and body composition changes may be important way of the impact of 1000 m sport ability.
